OUR SOCIETY’S DESPERATE NEED FOR CHARACTER!

OUR SOCIETY’S DESPERATE NEED FOR CHARACTER!

It is very sad to see the state our society is in. Plainly, everywhere we go, there are rebellious, rude, selfish people who simply were not taught to care for others. They weren’t taught manners. They weren’t taught to do things joyfully. All it takes is a quick visit to a fast food restaurant, and the quality of the service is equal to the quality of the food. “Please” and “Thank you” are not the magic words anymore.

Whereas in the 1930’s we still chose a President based on his character traits and moral standing, the television changed all that. Today, we choose our nation’s President based on his look and how “polished” he is. It is more about appearance than anything. Bad words, bad books, wrong messages are shouted everywhere we go. These things even enter our homes through the technological advances we are pampered with.

Parent’s struggle with rebellious children and are endlessly frustrated with their lack of knowledge to do something about it. Somewhere between last generation of involved parents and today’s generation of absent ones, things have gone wrong…really wrong.

Have we stopped caring? Has TV influenced us to the point of affecting our society to an edge? Has the busyness of life kept us from the focus of leaving a lasting legacy?
